The “Nero d'Avola” that characterizes Don Passo is the healthy translation of the Nero d'Avola grape variety. It takes its name from its place of origin in the south-east of Sicily. The Sicilians themselves like to call their parade vine "Sicilian prince". This ennobling has its justification, as heat-loving grapes, which get along with little water and tolerate drought wonderfully, are as if made for the warm Sicilian climate. In his native island, but also in western and southern Italy, he produces this strong and withered red wine.
